House Colors…Trying To Decide

This week I am pondering on house colors for my 100 year old farmhouse. We are starting to put up new siding, so I will be faced with CHOICES! So many choices of paint colors. Since my house is old, I wonder if I should go with a classic color combination or choose a more modern color scheme? This week on Facebook I had some differing opinions, but very useful all the same. I would love to get more feedback. What do you think? What color should my new/old house be?

Here are some inspiration photos I am contemplating…

I painted my new shed this summer so I could see what it looked like before painting my house. I LOVE the colors. I painted it a woodsey/sage green color, with crisp white trim and chocolate brown shutters. It looks really good. Now I'm just waiting for it to cool down here so I can pain the house the same colors.

I'm all for historical colors, but they didn't really have a lot of choices then. I have a 106 year old 2 story farmhouse that I'm trying to take back to its classic style. I vote the white and black or the blue and grey. Best of luck! Kelly, The Natural Health Girl http://www.naturalhealthgirl.com

I like the soft yellow – with the creamy white trim. I think that would be an amazing choice…a yellow farmhouse!

The first one. I want to have my home done too. Our siding is falling apart. When we first moved in it was a rental. So we just klept up the inside the best we could and left the outside to the owner. He never did anything. Over the years we have more than paid the price of the mobile so we called it even and we got the title. Now we need to get new siding, windows, etc etc. I'm still contemplating the colors..and even something new for siding instead of just repairing what is left. I think I'm going to take a photo of it and smack it into my editing program and see which color would look best. I look forward to seeing your project completed.
